About Shorewood, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The Village of Shorewood is located in Troy Township in Will County, Illinois approximately forty miles southwest of the city of Chicago.  Shorewood was settled in the early 1830s by Horace Haff who migrated to the area from Troy, New York.  Incorporated on November 27, 1957 with a population of 358, Shorewood's current population numbers nearly 16,000 residents and is still growing.  The Shorewood area falls in the U. S. humid continental climate zone, bringing hot, humid summers and cold, wet winters with beautiful weather in the springtime and fall.  No matter what the season or the weather, Shorewood is beautiful any time of the year!

Shorewood is conveniently located at the confluence of Interstates 55 and 80 and State Routes 52 and 59.  The village was recently ranked 16 out of 153 suburbs in Chicagoland in a livability study that was conducted by the Chicago Sun Times.  Dedicated to community, education, and recreation, the Village of Shorewood is the perfect blend of small-town and big city living.

The Village of Shorewood Parks and Recreation Department maintains and operates fifteen municipal parks, including the 45-acre Four Seasons Park that features athletic fields, basketball and tennis courts, a children's playground, hiking and biking trails, Frisbee golf, a sledding hill, and picnicking facilities.

Hammel Woods is a 408-acre forest preserve situated on the northeast edge of the village along the DuPage River that offers picnicking, camping, hiking and biking, fishing, cross-country skiing, and a fenced, registration-required dog park.  A 1.7-mile section of the DuPage River Trail angles through the preserve providing a paved bicycle path that connects four picnic areas with other areas located throughout the preserve boundaries.  The village is also just forty minutes away from Starved Rock State Park, which features excellent fishing and boating opportunities on the Illinois River, including ice fishing, and thirteen miles of trail for exploring.

Shorewood residents don't have to leave the confines of the local area for entertainment.  In addition to the numerous community events and programs offered by the parks and recreation department, the village is located within six miles of the city of Joliet and all of the entertainment possibilities offered there.  Residents and visitors have ready access to casinos, restaurants, Joliet's Splash Station Waterpark, numerous cultural attractions, and the many recreational opportunities available along the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor.

It is no wonder the residents of Shorewood love their village!  It is truly one of Chicagoland's most livable suburbs.
