About Glen Ellyn, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Glen Ellyn is a village located in DuPage County, Illinois approximately twenty-three miles west of the city of Chicago. Glen Ellyn was first settled in 1834 when Deacon Winslow Churchill arrived with his family from New York. In 1835, Moses Stacy built the community's first inn, known as Stacy's Tavern, which still stands today and is a historical monument located within the city. The village is situated around Lake Ellyn and enjoys a continental climate, which brings hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters to the beautiful village of Glen Ellyn.
From its humble beginnings in the early 1800s, the burgeoning Village of Glen Ellyn has grown into a community with a population of around 27,000 residents who enjoy the small town charm of this suburban village while appreciating its proximity to the big city conveniences and advantages of Chicago. The city is served by the Metra Union Pacific/West Line and has easy access to Interstate 355 and the Illinois Prairie Path.
Glen Ellyn is home to a total of twenty-nine parks and four recreational facilities, including Panfish Park, Lambert Lake Nature Preserve, Co-Op Park, and the Village Links Golf Course.
The Glen Ellyn Historical Society maintains the Glen Ellyn History Center and Stacy's Tavern Museum and provides educational outreach with its history programs to the DuPage County School District. The Downtown Glen Ellyn Alliance provides links and information regarding the many amenities found in the downtown district of the village. Topics cover dining, shopping, and services and provide a comprehensive directory to all things downtown. The Welcome to Glen Ellyn and Glenellynite websites provide additional information on the amenities of the Village of Glen Ellyn.
