About Elmhurst, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Elmhurst in located in the counties of DuPage and Cook, Illinois approximately eighteen miles northwest of the city of Chicago.  The earliest known settlers to the area were the Potawatomi Indians, who were followed in 1836 by European immigrants.  The city was incorporated in 1882 and grew from a small community of 1,050 to its present population of over 46,000 residents.  The area has a continental climate, bringing hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters, making Elmhurst a beautiful city in which to live or visit no matter what the season of the year!

Elmhurst has a vibrant cultural arts scene with numerous opportunities for experiencing the history and local culture of the area.  The Elmhurst Historical Museum features award-winning exhibits on the history of Elmhurst containing more than 15,000 historical artifacts and 10,000 photographs, as well as travelling exhibits on loan from national institutions.  The city boasts two museums of art, including the Elmhurst Arts Museum, a community visual arts center focused on the contributions of Illinois artists, and the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, which features antique and modern gemstone treasures blended with earth science exhibits.  The city of Elmhurst provides avenues into the musical arts through the Elmhurst Choral Union and the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, while the GreenMan Theatre Troupe provides the community with access to the performing arts. 

The Elmhurst College JazzFestival features three days of entertainment as the best college jazz bands from across the nation converge on the city to perform for some of the greatest jazz musicians in history.

The city is home to no less than twenty-three parks and numerous community and recreation centers.  Courts Plus is a state-of-the-art facility with a 75-foot exercise pool, therapeutic whirlpool, tennis and racquetball courts, wallyball and handball, basketball, and indoor climbing wall, and an aerobics studio.  Other excellent facilities in the city include the Abbey Senior Center, the Elmhurst Great Western Prairie, the Gateway Special Recreation-Anna Emery Hanson Center, the HUB at Berens Park, and the Joanne B. Wagner Community Center.
