The Village of Hinsdale is located in DuPage and Cook counties twenty-one miles west of the city of Chicago.  Hinsdale was founded in 1873 by William Robbins who purchased land in the area upon knowledge that the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad was to be routed through the local vicinity.  The area continued to grow with the arrival of German and Swedish immigrants, receiving incorporation in 1873.  Today, the Village of Hinsdale is a thriving community with a population of more than 17,000 residents and growing strong!  Hinsdale is in the U. S. humid continental climate zone and enjoys hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters with mild, comfortable weather during the spring and fall.  The Village of Hinsdale is a beautiful place to live or visit during any season of the year!
