The Village of La Grange Park is located in Cook County, Illinois approximately fifteen miles west of the city of Chicago.  The area around La Grange Park was first settled during the 1830s.  In 1892, a group of settlers who lived north of the community of La Grange began organizing a village under the leadership of Alphonso Kemman that resulted in the founding and incorporation of the Village of La Grange Park on July 14, 1892.

La Grange Park lies within the U. S. humid continental climate zone and experiences hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters with lovely mild weather during the spring and fall season.  No matter what the season, La Grange Park is beautiful any time of the year!

The Community Park District of La Grange Park maintains and operates six municipal parks and two facilities used for programming and community activities.  The Park District sponsors numerous community events during the year, including the annual "Run for the Roses" 5K race that takes place each May with proceeds from the race going to support the Park District Scholarship Fund.

There are numerous community service clubs located in La Grange Park that contribute to the community through their sponsorship of area events and activities.
