The city of Joliet, located in Will and Kendall counties along the Des Plaines and DuPage rivers, is approximately forty-five miles southwest of Chicago and is the county seat of Will County and the fourth largest city in Illinois.  With a population of more than 147,000 residents, Joliet is the fastest growing city in the state of Illinois, as well as one of the fastest growing in the nation.  The city is easily accessible by air, rail, auto, and bus.  It is serviced by the Joliet Regional Airport, the Metra Rail Line from Chicago, and receives daily service from Amtrak between Chicago and San Antonio.  Located in the humid continental climate zone, Joliet's hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters make Joliet the perfect city to live, work, and play in Illinois!

The city of Joliet is home to numerous museums, art galleries, and theaters of the performing arts.  The Joliet Historical Museum, which features exhibits and collections relevant to the early history of the area, and the Joliet Historic Preservation Commission are dedicated to the history of the city through the identification and preservation of historical landmarks and sites in and around Joliet.  The historic Rialto Square Theater, circa 1926, which features ornate architectural works in Greek, Roman and Byzantine style, was designed by the renowned Sicilian immigrant, Eugene Romeo.

Joliet is also home to numerous parks and recreational facilities, including the Billie  Limacher  Bicentennial  Park located along the waterway of the Des Plaines River in downtown Joliet and the Pilcher Park Nature Center, which features hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing.  The Forest Preserve District of Will County features many miles of trails that intersect throughout the county and provide enjoyment for hikers, bikers, skaters, and joggers, as well as equestrians and cross-country skiers.
