The Village of Woodridge is located primarily in DuPage County, Illinois approximately twenty-five miles southwest of the city of Chicago. Woodridge offers numerous outlets for recreation and entertainment within the confines of the local village area, as well as convenient access to the many attractions and entertainment venues located in the Chicago metropolitan area. The Woodridge Park District maintains and operates forty-two parks and four primary facilities located on 620 acres of parkland within the district. Orchard Hill Park features three baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, and a large, multi-purpose open play area on forty-six acres. The park is located adjacent to the Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, which features six water slides, a 600-foot lazy river, multiple pools (including a 6-lane competitive pool), a diving well, water playground, and sand playground area. The park district also operates the Village Greens Golf Course, an 18-hole public golfing facility that is fun and affordable and features an ideal course layout for all skill levels. Residents and visitors can also enjoy ice-skating at Seven Bridges Arena, fitness activities at Edwards Health and Fitness, and biking opportunities on the newly expanded off-road bikeway system.
The Village of Woodridge was named by Money Magazine as one of the "Top 100 Places to Live" in 2007 and recognized on the World's Greatest TV show in 2008 as one of the "World's Greatest Communities."
